    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for performing direct communications between terminals and the terminal supporting the same are provided to obtain synchronization between the terminals performing direct communications by improving a synchronization channel structure. CONSTITUTION: Direct communications is performed with one or more second terminals using allocated resources for the direct communications between terminals. The resources include a synchronous channel which is used for frequency synchronization and time synchronization between the terminals. The synchronization channel includes a synchronization channel preamble which is used for either preamble detection, time offset estimation, frequency offset estimation, or channel estimation. The synchronization channel preamble is either a first sequence repeating a basic pattern or a second sequence combining the basic pattern with a pattern multiplying the basic pattern by (-1). One or more OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) symbols are used for transmitting the synchronization channel preamble.
