Abstract: A multicast data transmission device using priority based on the number of branches and a method therefor are provided to assign higher priority as the number of copied data is increased in a multicast system, thereby preventing the transmission delay of a service from getting larger. A receiving module(100) receives data of a multicast service from one upstream interface. A copy module(200) copies the received data as many as the number of data to be branched. A transmission module(300) transmits the copied data to plural downstream interfaces one by one. A control module(400) assigns priority as many as the number of data copied in one of the modules based on the multicast service information, and controls so that a high priority processing function or more service time is provided.
