Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and a method for authenticating a smartcard reading device. According to the system and the method for authenticating a smartcard reading device, an authentication device authenticates a reading device prior to reading smartcard-contained information to secure justice of reading software and the reading device and enables control to access to the smartcard by interworking with a process of authenticating justice of an external environment in the smartcard, thereby block a forgery and alteration intimate of a hacker attempting to illegal drain of the smartcard-contained information, with respect to the reading software and the reading device.
