Abstract: PURPOSE: A forgery discriminator of security goods and a method thereof are provided to use the invisible infrared absorber to facilitate the discrimination. CONSTITUTION: A security goods forgery discriminator is comprised of the followings: a visible light irradiation unit(120) which is formed on an investigated material(10), and irradiates the visible light as an invisible infrared absorber which is formed in an information code format; a infrared light irradiation unit(130) which irradiates the infrared light as the invisible infrared absorber; a light receiving unit(140) which is comprised of a light receiving sensor array, and senses the intensity of a first reflection light which irradiates the visible light and is reflected by the invisible infrared absorber and the intensity of a second light which irradiates the infrared light and is reflected by the invisible infrared absorber; and a control unit(110) which consecutively turns on/off the visible light irradiation unit and the infrared light irradiation unit, determines the forgery of the investigated material by using a digital value of the intensity of the first reflection light and a digital value of the intensity of the second reflection light, extracts the information code, and decodes the information from the extracted information code.
