Abstract: 본 발명은 IP 망에서 스케일러블 비디오(SVC)의 품질 적응 기술에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 스케일러블 비디오의 패킷 손실 오류를 축소하기 위한 적응 장치는 다중의 패스로부터 패킷을 입력받는 IP 네트워크 망의 노드에 있어서, 입력 패킷의 손실이 우려될 경우, 스케일러빌러티 계층간의 의존성을 고려하여, 낮은 의존성 패킷을 제거 후, 패킷다중화부에 제공하는 스케쥴링버퍼를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하며, 패킷 손실에 따른 화질 열화를 최소화할 수 있는 적응 장치를 제공하는데 기술적 목적이 있다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An adaptation apparatus for reducing packet loss errors of a scalable video cording and a method thereof are provided to remove low dependent packet by analyzing the dependability between scalability layers. CONSTITUTION: A packet scheduler(205) is connected to a scheduling buffer in a node of an IP network which receives a packet from multiple paths. If it is considered the loss of input packets, the packet scheduler removes a low dependent packet in consideration of the dependability between scalability layers. The packet scheduler provides a packet multiplexer with the input packet from which the low dependent packet is removed. A packet loss detection unit(203) detects the packet loss pattern of each NAL by reading out the NALU(Network Abstraction Layer Unit) of the inputted scalable video.
