    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing a globular powder of polymethylmethacrylate with high efficiency and high productivity, in which crystal is formed in solution by simple production equipment and process without polymerization additives such as emulsifier and dispersant. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) stirring a mass polymethylmethacrylate resin at temperature of its boiling point or 20deg.C lower than the boiling point, in phase-separation solvent, so as to form transparent homogeneous solution; (ii) cooling the heated homogeneous solution to 0-30 deg.C in a rate of 0.001-200 deg.C/min., to perform a phase-separation of solvent and polymethylmethacrylate, thereby forming a nucleus of polymer crystal, and adjusting a growth velocity of the formed nucleus to form an inhomogeneous solution(from which polymethylmethacrylate is removed as a separate globular particle); and (iii) dissolving, washing and removing only the phase-separation solvent by using washing solvent, and isolating and filtrating the phase-separated polymethylmethacrylate, so as to globular polymethylmethacrylate powder having uniform size distribution.
