    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for measuring concentration of elementary mercury and mercury oxide is provided to measure mercury by species at high sensitivity. CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring concentration of mercury comprises: a step of adsorbing elementary mercury and mercury oxide in an analyte with an adsorbent; a step of detaching the elementary mercury at 100-300°C and measure concentration of the elementary mercury; and a step of reducing and detaching the mercury oxide at 300-600°C and measuring the amount of the mercury oxide. The adsorbent is supported with gold, silver, copper, tin, or lead. The adsorbent contains activated carbon or alumina.
