    Abstract: A method for preparing multifunctional spherical activated carbon having photoactivity which is applied to remove harmful materials in the air or water, and has antibacterial capability is provided. A method for preparing spherical activated carbon having photoactivity comprises: a step of mixing a cation exchange resin carrier with a photocatalytic metal ion solution to perform ion exchange reaction thereof, and drying the ion exchange reacted material; an insolubilization step which is performed at a temperature of 250 to 350 deg.C in the air atmosphere for 2.0 to 10.0 hours; a carbonization step which is performed at a temperature of 500 to 900 deg.C in an inert gas atmosphere for 0.2 to 2.0 hours; and an activation step which is performed at a temperature of 850 to 1100 deg.C in a steam-contained inert gas atmosphere for 0.2 to 2.0 hours.
