Abstract: A method for preparing a porous coordination polymer is provided to obtain a porous crystalline material having a three-dimensional framework structure and useful for selective gas adsorption and separation, and ultrapure semiconductor gas purification. A method for preparing a porous coordination polymer comprises a step of hydrothermally reacting a divalent metal chloride(MCl2, wherein M is Co2+, Ni2+, Cr2+, Fe2+, Mn2+, Zn2+ or Al2+) hydrated in a basic aqueous solution with pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid to form a porous coordination polymer hydrate. In the method, the reaction mixture is purged with an inert gas before the hydrothermal reaction, and then heated to 150-250 deg.C in an autoclave reactor.
