Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition containing 3,3'-diindolylmethane is provided to inhibit expression of iNOS(inducible nitrogen oxide synthase) induced from LPS(lipopolysaccharide) and expression of COX-2(cyclooxygenase-2) induced from TAP by suppressing signal transmission of NF-kappaB(nuclear factor kappa B) and AP-1(activator protein 1). A pharmaceutical composition for treatment and prevention of inflammation disease comprises 0.1-50wt% of 3,3'-diindolylmethane represented by the formula 1 as an active ingredient. The inflammation disease is acute inflammation disease, rheumatic arthritis, gastritis, colitis, nephritis, hepatitis, cancer or degenerative disease. A health food has a formulation selected from the group consisting of powder, granule, refinement, capsule and drink.
