Abstract: PURPOSE: A portable device and a method thereof which supplies input through an optical pen are provided to supply a new interface through an infrared ray emission device and to supply input of an optical pen in order to increase convenience of a user. CONSTITUTION: An infrared filter(110) filters an infrared ray from a photographed image. A motion tracking unit(120) traces motion of an optical signal filtered by the infrared filter. A locus generating unit(140) generates the motion of the optical signal traced with the motion tracking unit. A layer synthesizing unit(150) synthesizes a sketchbook layer and a capture layer.
