Abstract:
An organic clay comprising metal ion and amphoteric surfactant, preparation method thereof and method for removing contaminant using the clay are provided to decrease desorption of surfactant in the clay during purgation while removing nitrogen and phosphorous coincidently. An organic clay comprises clay mineral, metal ions and amphoteric surfactant, and the amphoteric surfactant and the metal ion having a form of polymer are in the space between layers of interlayer crossing clay mineral. The clay mineral is one selected from a group consisting of bentonite, zeolite, smectite, phyllosilicate, montmorillonite, saponite, beidellite, nontronite, vermiculite, kaolinite and halloysite. The metal ion is one selected from a group consisting of Al, K, Ca, Na and Mg. The amphoteric surfactant is one selected from a group consisting of N-dodecyl-N,N'-dimethyl-3-amino-1-propanesulfonate(DDAPS), N-hydroxyethyl-N-carboxyethyl-N-aminoethyl dodecylamide(IB), cocamidopropyl betaines, N-dodecyl-N,N-dimethyl betain(C12-Bet), N-tetradecyloxymethyl-N,N-dimethyl-N,N-dimethyl betain(C14-Bet), N-octadecyloxymethyl-N,N-dimethyl betain(C18-Bet) and combinations thereof. The preparation method for the organic clay comprising metal ion and amphoteric surfactant comprises the steps of: preparing interlayer crossing clay by mixing metal ion solution and clay mineral; adding amphoteric surfactant to the prepared interlayer crossing clay and mixing the resultant; and filtering and drying the product. The metal ion solution is prepared by mixing aqueous suspension comprising alkaline metal with strong base. The method for removing contaminant using the prepared organic clay comprises a process of mixing the organic clay with contaminant of soil or of waste water for absorbing the contaminative material to be removed in the soil or the waste water.
