Abstract: PURPOSE: A system and method of opening/closing a gas valve for a gas insulated switchgear are provided to minimize damage to a human error by determining the disconnection of a gas compartment and automatically determining the opening and closing of the gas valve. CONSTITUTION: A gas valve(100) controls the exhaustion of a gas within a gas compartment. A sensor unit senses the operation state of the gas compartment. A data transceiver receives sense information and transfers a controls signal to a gas valve. A key input unit inputs the ID of the gas compartment. A display unit indicates the operation information of the gas compartment. A central processing unit generates a control signal opening and closing the gas valve.
