Abstract: A light weight artificial marble production method is provided to lighten total weight of the light weight artificial marble by integrating an artificial marble layer using a normal filler and an artificial marble layer using a filler of light weight. A light weight artificial marble production method comprises steps of: manufacturing a normal artificial marble compound using an inorganic filler and the artificial marble compound which uses the light weight replenishment instead of an inorganic filler and keeping them in each separate container; supplying the manufactured normal artificial marble compound and the artificial marble compound using the light weight replenishment to a molding frame and molding them; ossifying the artificial marble and grinding it.

Abstract: An artificial marble having transparent chips embedded therein is provided to increase bond strength between the chips and matrix, and to prevent the chips from being easily exfoliated when the artificial marble is bent or thermally processed. An artificial marble includes 25-45wt% of acrylic resin sirup, 39-54wt% of an inorganic filler, 0.1-1wt% of a crosslinker, 0.1-1wt% of a hardener, 0.1-1wt% of an anti-settling agent, and 5-30wt% of secondary transparent chips. The secondary transparent chips comprises 35-50wt% of acrylic resin sirup, 30-43wt% of an inorganic filler, 0.1-5wt% of pearl chips, 0.1-1wt% of a crosslinker, 0.1-1wt% of a hardener, 0.1-1wt% of an anti-settling agent, and 1-30wt% of primary transparent chips that are prepared by hardening and crushing a resin slurry consisting of 48-78wt% of acrylic resin sirup, 19-48wt% of an inorganic filler, 1-2wt% of a crosslinker, 1-2wt% of a hardener, and 0.1-1wt% of an anti-settling agent. The content of the artificial marble is in order of the primary transparent chips, the secondary transparent chips, and the acrylic resin sirup.
