Abstract:
A composition for preventing or treating PPARalpha(peroxisome proliferator activated receptor alpha)-mediated diseases, which contains Euchresta horsfieldii extract is provided to activate PPARalpha, prevent and treat the PPARalpha-mediated diseases such as obesity, hyperlipidemia, and cardiovascular disease. A composition for preventing or treating PPARalpha-mediated diseases comprises Euchresta horsfieldii extract as an active ingredient. An organic solvent is water, ethanol, methanol, propanol, isopropanol, butanol acetone, ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate, methyl chloride, hexane, cyclohexane petroleum ether, diethyl ether or benzene. The PPARalpha-mediated diseases is obesity, hyperlipidemia, X-sydrome, hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipoproteinemia, and hypertriglyceridemia.
Abstract:
A sporicidal agent is provided to inhibit growth and activity of spore-forming food poisoning microorganisms, suppress the exponential growth into feeder cells by inhibiting germination of spores, and inhibit side effects, so that food poisoning is prevented. A sporicidal agent against spore-forming microorganisms contains panduratin A represented by the formula(1) or isopanduratin A represented by the formula(2) which is extracted from Kaempferia pandurata by drying and pulverizing Kaempferia pandurata, extracting the pulverized Kaempferia pandurata with water, methanol, ethanol, ethyl acetate or a mixed solvent thereof, removing solvent from the extract and subjecting the extract to silica gel column chromatography, wherein the spore-forming microorganisms include Bacillus sp. and Clostridium sp.
