Abstract: A hexagonal Z type ferrite sintered material and a method for fabricating the same are provided to obtain high density by using a Ba-rich composition, high permeability, and low anisotropy of permeability. A hexagonal Z type ferrite sintered material includes a C-axis-oriented surface with a degree of orientation fc_ given as fc_= SigmaI(HK0)/I(HKL) of more than 0.4 when l(HKL) is integral intensity of a diffraction peak represented by an index(HKL), SigmaI(HKL) is total integral intensity of all diffraction peaks of a hexagonal Z type ferrite, and SigmaI(HK0) is total integral intensity of all diffraction peaks with L of 0 in an X-ray diffraction of which a measurement range is 2Theta=20 to 80 degrees. The degree of orientation fc// calculated from fc//=l(0018)/l(110) in an X-ray diffraction is not less than 0.3 in at least two surfaces which are perpendicular to the c-axis-oriented surface and are perpendicular to each other.
