Abstract: A dental appliance including a polymeric shell with an arrangement of cavities configured to receive one or more teeth and a coating on at least portion of the polymeric shell. The coating can include a polyester with an ion exchange functional group covalently bonded thereto, and the ion exchange functional group can release in an oral environment at least one therapeutically beneficial ion at a surface of a tooth.
