    Abstract: An antenna for transfer of information or energy is described. The antenna includes an electrically conductive first layer having a width in a thickness direction of the antenna and extending longitudinally along a length of the first layer between first and second longitudinal ends of the first layer, and an electrically insulative thermally conductive second layer bonded to the first layer along the length of the first layer. The first and second layers are wound to form a plurality of substantially concentric loops. A width and a length of the second layer are substantially co-extensive with the respective width and length of the first layer so as to expose opposing longitudinal edge surfaces of the first layer along the length of the first layer. Coils and assemblies useful for making coils are also described.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless charging system including a boost converter and a transmission coil structure at a transmission side. The wireless charging system includes a boost converter 150 configured to boost a first DC voltage input to an input terminal to a second DC voltage, a DC/AC inverter 160 configured to receive the boosted second DC voltage from the boost converter to convert the received second DC voltage to AC power, and a transmission coil structure 170 which is electrically connected to the DC/AC inverter to generate a temporally variable magnetic field for wireless supplying from the AC power. The first DC voltage and the second DC voltage of the boost converter 150 may be maintained to predetermined fixed values. The transmission coil structure 170 is formed by winding a wire on a magnetic sheet many times in a spiral shape and the winding coil has a circular shape having predetermined inner radius and outer radius, a pitch, and the turn number. Further, the transmission coil structure may include a plurality of coil structures and the plurality of coil structures may have a laminated structure by connecting wires having different cross-sectional areas in series.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a coil assembly. According to a first embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided a coil assembly including a coil including a multilayer film which is extended between a first longitudinal end and a second longitudinal end of the multilayer film, which are opposite to each other, and which is wound to form a plurality of loops which are substantially concentric, wherein the multilayer film includes: cut edges which are extended between the first longitudinal end and the second longitudinal end, and are opposite to each other and are substantially parallel to each other; a metal layer; and a magnetic layer disposed on the metal layer, wherein, at one or more of the first longitudinal end and the second longitudinal end of the multilayer film, the metal layer is electrically connected to a conductive terminal.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a coil and an electrical system including the same. Specifically, according to an embodiment of the disclosure, there is provided a coil including: main coil surfaces which are opposite each other and are substantially planar; and a multilayer film which is wound to form a plurality of loops which are substantially concentric, wherein the plurality of loops include an innermost loop including a first longitudinal direction end of the coil, and an outermost loop including a second longitudinal direction end of the coil, wherein the multilayer film includes a plurality of first electro-conductive layers which alternate with each other, and one or more second electrical insulation layers, wherein the first electro-conductive layer and the second electrical insulation layer have a width and a length which are substantially coextensive therebetween, such that the main coil surfaces, which are substantially planar, include corresponding end surfaces of the first electro-conductive layer and the second electrical insulation layer, respectively, wherein at least two first electro-conductive layers have different average thicknesses to reduce an alternating current resistance of the coil by 5%-11.3% inclusive in a frequency of at least about 148 KHz.

    Abstract: A coil for transfer of information or energy is described. The coil includes an electrically conductive magnetically insulative first layer and a magnetically conductive second layer bonded to the first layer along the length of the first layer. The first and second layers are wound to form a plurality of substantially concentric loops. A width and a length of the second layer may be substantially co-extensive with a respective width and length of the first layer so as to expose opposing longitudinal edge surfaces of the first layer along the length of the first layer. At least one of the opposing longitudinal edge surfaces may include a regular pattern extending substantially along a same first direction and across substantially the entire coil. A method of making the coil is described.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless charging system including a boost converter and a transmission coil structure at a transmission side.
