Abstract: The apparatus comprises at least one vibration sensor (220a,b) positioned on an external surface of the device (100), and a motive power source coupled to the device for causing movement of the at least one moving part. A computing element is coupled for receipt of an output of the at least one sensor and operative to examine the sensor output while the motive power source is causing movement of the at least one moving part and to determine whether an assembly error has occurred by comparing a computed function of the output of the at least one sensor to a preselected value. A Independent claim is included for a method of testing for proper assembly of a device having at least one moving part.
