Abstract: A multi-terminal electrical differential line protection system wherein each of the terminals had a receiver and a transmitter and the receiver of each terminal is connected to the transmitter of an adjacent terminal to provide a unidirectional data communications link between all of the terminals in a ring on which communications between all of the terminals is in a first direction. Each of the terminals may also have an additional receiver and a transmitter and the additional receiver of each terminal is connected to the additional transmitter of an adjacent terminal to provide a unidirectional data communications link between all of the terminals on another ring on which the direction of communication is opposite the first direction.
