Abstract: PURPOSE: To surely prevent dirt from entering a compressor passage via sealed air by designing a compressor to take the sealed air out of an inflow chamber behind an inlet filter and in front of inflow guide vanes. CONSTITUTION: This compressor for a gas turbine has rotary vanes 7 fixed around a rotor shaft 10 which is rotatable about an axis 18, and a compressor casing 2 is provided to surround the rotor shaft 10 within the region of the rotary vanes 7. An inflow casing 9 provided with an outer shell 3, an inner shell 16, and an inflow chamber 4 is provided to surround the rotor shaft 10 on the inflow side of the compressor 1. In this case, a seal casing 11 is provided at the end of the inner shell 11 while facing the rotary vanes 7 to thereby seal an inlet passage 27 against ambient air while the inlet passage 27 is positioned adjacent to the circumference of the rotor shaft 10. A sealing air chamber 12 provided in the seal casing 11 is communicated with the inflow chamber 4 via a sealing air passage 15.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve turbine efficiency by diverting a portion of a rotor- cooling-air leakage after some labyrinth seals for shielding air and introducing ambient air as cooling air into a bearing space so that is it partly used to cool a supporting structure. SOLUTION: Labyrinth seals and a gland bushing 18 are used for sealing inside an exhaust gas casing 14 supporting the outlet side of a turbine rotor 2. Shielding air having a higher pressure than exhaust gas A in an exhaust gas duct 32 is directed into the gland bushing 18 and then into the exhaust gas duct 32. Rotor cooling air R extracted from a compressor stage is fed into the rotor 2 through an exhaust-gas-side shaft end via a pipeline 19. The leakage of the rotor cooling air R is partly diverted after some of the labyrinth seals in the exhaust gas casing 14 and is used as shielding air. Ambient air is introduced as cooling air K into a bearing space 16 wherein it is uniformly distributed about via the gland bushing 18.
