Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling air cooler easily and surely operable to ensure a high efficiency of the whole plant and capable of using cooling performance for steam generation. SOLUTION: A cooling air cooler 10 is formed of a helical steam generating machine provided within a cylindrical pressure vessel 23 operated on the basis of counterflow principle and vertically arranged, in which a helical coil pipe 30 fills the space between a jacket inner pipe 26 and a jacket outer pipe 41, and water 12 can be supplied to the coil pipe 30 through a water conduit 32. Steam 14 can be delivered from the coil pipe 30 through a steam conduit 33, the evaporating water 12 flows in the helical part from the lower part to the upper part, cooling air 11 capable of being supplied from a compressor through an air inlet conduit 24 flows in the helical part from the upper part to the lower part, and the air is guided to change the direction in the lowest point within the pressure vessel 23 before it reaches a cooling air outflow conduit 25 after leaving the helical part.
