Abstract: PURPOSE: To simplify the structure, to lower the cost, and to provide high operating reliability by integrally manufacturing a frame of the insulating material, and providing a means for maintaining the contact force, between a contact and a block made of varistors. CONSTITUTION: A block 9 made of the varistor material is pinched between two pressure plates 8. A groove disc 10 is put between the pressure plates 8 and following blocks 9. The groove disc 10 is provided with a center hole. Multiple grooves surrounds the center hole in the concentrical condition. This groove disc 10 is made of aluminum, which is weakly annealed. Contact force to be applied to a device by a bolt 4 with screw deforms corner of the groove disc 10 in response to place, and a specified point contact is generated, and especially excellent transmission of current to an overvoltage arrester is secured.
