Abstract: PURPOSE: To ensure invariant damping efficiency even under alternating operational conditions. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for damping thermoacoustic vibration in a combustion chamber 7, especially of a gas turbine, comprises a Helmholtz resonator 1 having a resonator space 2 and a connecting tube 3 by means of which the resonator space 2 is connected to the combustion chamber 7 wherein the Helmholtz resonator 1 comprises a first means for controlling the resonator frequency as a function of the frequency of the combustion chamber vibration.
