Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airflow rectifier capable of uniforming a flow profile of entering combustion air, enhancing degree of turbulence and adapting airflow to a burner to obtain a homogeneous mixture of air and fuel. SOLUTION: A perforated member 24 having a wall thickness (s) for diverging entering combustion air 15 flowing therethrough into a plurality of prescribed narrow jets and converging them after a predetermined running length 1 is provided between a plenum and a burner. A plurality of openings 25 each having a diameter (d) are arranged at intervals (t) in the perforated member 24, the ratio of wall thickness (s) to the opening diameter (d) being greater than/equal to 1 and the ratio of the through-flow area of the perforated member 24 to the possible inflow area of the burner being greater than/equal to 1 as a function of the type of burner.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To minimize total pressure loss for improving efficiency in an appliance by mounting a means capable of utilizing the kinetic energy of the peripheral component of flow velocity in an extraction slot. CONSTITUTION: An annular extraction slot 4 is disposed on a gas turbine casing 3 between the stationary blade wheel 1 and the moving blade wheel 2 of a compressor. The extraction slot 4 is opened in an extraction chamber 5, and the extraction chamber 5 is connected to an extraction tube 6. The inlet area of the extraction slot 4 has a fixed height, and a mini-cascade 7 is disposed at this area. The part of the extraction slot 4 formed subsequently to the mini- cascade 7 is formed as a diagonal diffuser 8. When a secondary airflow is extracted, the flow at the inlet to the extraction slot 4 is directed in an axial direction by the mini-cascade 7. As a result, a peripheral component of flow velocity is converted to static pressure. It is thus possible to reduce total pressure loss.
