    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid intricate shrink fit between a turbo generator and a steam turbine without increasing the overall length of a turbine generator. SOLUTION: In a thermal power station where a single turbo generator is driven commonly by a gas turbine and a steam turbine, slip rings 8, 9 are arranged on an independent slip ring shaft 14 coupled with the essential shaft 10 of an electric machine through a first separable coupling 11. The slip ring shaft 14 is provided, at the end part thereof remote from the electric machine, with a coupling flange 15 which is coupled with the slip ring shaft 14, by welding, only after applying the slip rings 8, 9 to the slip ring shaft 14.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To protect an excitation coil from relative movements in the axial direction by installing, between an insulating strip and the excitation coil, a parallel and elastic strip-like intermediate layer and fitting a pair of downward projections of the intermediate layer in cutouts formed in the insulating strip. CONSTITUTION: An excitation coil, constituted of hollow conductors 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, is located in a slot 2 of a rotor body 3. The slot 2 is closed by a slot wedge 4. Between the uppermost hollow conductor 1a and the slot wedge 4, a wedge dunnage 5 made of insulating material having resiliency is located. Furthermore, in the bottom of the slot, an insulating strip 6 is installed. Between the insulating strip 6 and the lowermost hollow conductor 1d, a charging strip 7 is located. Thus, the elastic intermediate layer can be fixed in the axial direction by a simple means. Furthermore, the intermediate layer can be manufactured at a low cost with all the requirements for operation being satisfied without damaging the path of a cooling gas.
