Abstract: The compressor wheel (1) has a nave (2) and running blades (3) of one-piece aluminum structure. It has a hollow core (6) and at the end of the nave which has the greatest radius is a support ring of material of greater specific strength than aluminum. The support ring is of titanium, or can be of plastic. The support ring (5) at the outer edge of the nave (2) is so arranged that with the housing of the compressor wheel (1) it forms a radial or axial seal. The support ring at the end of the nave which has the larger radius is of a thermoplastic or duroplastic material reinforced with endless fibres.
