Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a three-wire transmission system, whereby the three wires (L1, L2, L3) of the system are used for transmitting direct current and two of the three lines (L1, L2, L3) at a time are connected in parallel in an alternating manner during the transmission of direct current. According to an optimized variant, all three lines (L1, L2, L3) are included in the alternating parallel circuit, whereby one line (e.g. L1) is operated with a constant polarity.

Abstract: The device has loads connected to an a.c. sub-network connected to a supply via a switch and a primary winding of a coupling transformer. The converters' d.c. sides are connected to an intermediate d.c. circuit (G) and at least one energy storage device (ES) and/or energy generator (EE).
