Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expose an arc to a strong arc-extinguishing gas flow. SOLUTION: An arc chamber 5 is formed between a fixed contact tulip 1 and a sliding tulip 4. An opening and closing pin 3 movable at a connected position is placed in the arc chamber. The opening and closing pin is plugged in an exhaust outlet 9 surrounded by the sliding tulip 4, and in a spray opening 7 surrounded by the contact tulip 1. The spray opening connects the arc chamber 5 to a pressure chamber 6. The arc chamber 5 is surrounded by a circular heating chamber 13. Plural loading materials 10 for an explosive are provided in the pressure chamber 6. The loading materials are mostly converted into arc-extinguishing gas, nitrogen in particular within about 10-30 ms after ignited. In this case, the gas pressure moves the opening and closing pin 3 toward an interruption position. The gas is sprayed to an arc generated between the opening and closing pin 3 and the contact tulip 1 after the spray opening 7 and the exhaust outlet 9 are opened.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressurized gas-blast breaker capable of extinguishing an arc reliably and requiring no large driving energy. SOLUTION: This pressurized gas-blast circuit breaker is provided with an arc region and first and second piston chambers 7, 8 divided by a piston 6 in a piston chamber, and both piston chambers 7, 8 are communicated with the arc region via a common gas passage 11. The first piston chamber 7 has a first opening 10 for discharging the compressed arc extinguishing gas, a second opening 12 is arranged in the piston chamber communicating the second piston chamber 8 with the gas passage 11 at least sometimes, the first opening 10 and second opening 12 merge with the gas passage 11, and the gas passage 11 flows into the arc region on the gas passage side. The first opening 10 flows into the gas passage 11 on the arc region side of the second opening 12, and the second opening 12 flows into the gas passage 11 on the arc region side of the first opening 10.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breaker in which energy exhaust, especially pinch pressure is effectively utilized spraying gas to arc. SOLUTION: Pressure chambers 25a, 25b are placed subsequently to an arc compartment 16 divided by burning rings 32a, 32b. The pressure chambers 25a, 25b are severally connected to a heating chamber 18 concentrically surrounding the arc chamber 18, through return passages 28a, 28b having a rotation symmetry to an opening and closing axis and check valves 29a, 29b. A circumferential spraying slit 19 opened toward the arc chamber 16 from a space between the burning rings 32a, 32b is extended from the heating chamber 18. The pressure chambers 25a, 25b are connected to exhaust chambers 30a, 30b through exhaust pipes 34a, 34b. A pressure rise in the pressure chamber by a pinch pressure contributes to generation of a high spraying pressure in the heating room 18 through the return passages 28a, 28b.

SOLUTION: A power breaker includes a contact structure having a plurality of burning-resistant switching pieces. The contact structure includes a fixed switching piece 3, a switching piece 4 movable along a central axis 2, and an insulating nozzle 6 surrounding the switching pieces 3. 4 concentrically. The insulating nozzle 6 has a constricted part 7 and is manufactured from a burning-resistant synthetic resin. The insulating nozzle 6 is so formed that a burning groove 10 formed extends perpendicular to the direction of electric field load.

Abstract: The circuit breaker has a contact arrangement provided with switch members which cannot be burned away. The contact arrangement has a stationary switch member (3) and a switch member (4) which is movable along a central axis (2). It also has an insulating sleeve (6) which concentrically surrounds the switch members (3,4). The insulating sleeve(6) has a narrowed portion (7). The insulating sleeve (6) is structured such that resulting burn out channels (10) run perpendicular to the direction of the electric field force. The plastic is preferably an aliphatic polymer or an aromatic polymer. The aliphatic polymer and/or the aromatic polymer may be a polyamide or polyimide or polysulphate or polyphenylsulphate or a similar polymer or mixture of these.

Abstract: The arc extinguishing chamber has a pair of electrical power connections (1,2) and in between are switching contacts that are in the form of fixed spring contacts (3) and an axially movable pin (4). The chamber has a toroidal shaped heating space (7) formed between a cylindrical isolator (8) and an isolating nozzle stage (9). A ring shaped channel is created (10) between the parts. An arc extinguishing material is formed as a coating and during an arc generating switching operation, when the contacts separate, extinguishing gas is produced. The material has a microcapsular structure that releases that gas.

Abstract: The power switch comprises at least one burn-up switching arrangement which comprises two parts, and an arc chamber (5) between the switching parts. An exhaust (9) connects the arc chamber with an exhaust volume (8). At least one pressure chamber (6) is connected over the arc chamber with the exhaust. At least one explosive charge (10) is triggered at a switch-off, and is, at least partially converted into a gas. The power switch comprises at least one burn-up switching arrangement which comprises a first switching part and a second switching part, movable along a switching axis (2) between an on position, in which it touches the first switching part, and an off position, in which it is in a distance from it in axial direction, releasing an arc chamber (5) between the switching parts. At least one exhaust (9) connects the arc chamber with at least one exhaust volume (8). At least one pressure chamber (6) is connected over the arc chamber with the, at least one exhaust. At least one explosive charge (10) is triggered at a switch-off, and is, at least partially converted into an extinguishing gas current.
