Abstract: A blower has rotor (1) with hub (2), surrounded by a casing. Flow segments (4) surround individual flow channels (5) and are interconnected mutually and with the hub. Also connected to the hub is an axial (3) shaft. Original features of this novel design include the interlocking of the flow segments with the hub and their fastening by means of a binding (13, 14) of endless-fibre reinforced, thermoplastic band. During winding of the binding, momentary heating of the thermoplastic fuses it to the previously-applied layer.
