    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily convey or deliver a heating member into or out of a Deglor furnace by supporting an outer flange of a protective tube by an inner flange of a protective sleeve in a ceiling of the Deglor furnace, associating the member with the Deglor furnace, and then incorporating a length for projecting from ceiling bricks in the sleeve. SOLUTION: The heating member 1 is surrounded by a protective tube 2, and an electrically heating rod 3 is disposed in the tube 2. The tube 2 is formed of nitride, oxide or carbide hi-tech ceramics. A first end of the tube 2 closed by its circular top is projected into the Deglor furnace, while a second open end of the tube 2 has an outer flange at its outside. A protective sleeve 7 is surrounded by ceiling bricks 9 useful to heat insulate at its outer surface. The end of the sleeve 7 is opened, and its end is projected from a ceiling of the Deglor furnace. That is, the sleeve 7 is formed longer than a thickness of the brick 9.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for vitrifying heavy metal containing dust collecting ash of high chlorine content generated by flue gas purification in which the quantity of an alkali containing additive is reduced and also the feeding quantity of dust collecting ash can be increased. SOLUTION: In a method of vitrifying heavy metal containing dust collecting ash 18 of >10 wt.% chlorine content which is melted in a melting furnace 1 and particularly which is generated by flue gas purification, the components of the dust collecting ash 18 which cannot be melted into a molten material 4 are separated into two defined parts 22, 23 and the first defined part 22 contains easily volatile components and the second defined part 23 contains salts hardly volatile components. The first defined part 22 is evaporated and is taken out together with a waste gas 14 and is recovered as a condensate 28 and the second defined part 23 is separated and carried out as a liquid salt from the surface of the molten material 4.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a total amount of an additive and a fusion material without decreasing a salt constituent evaporation rate by a method wherein a stoichiometric relation of an alkali metal-containing additive and a calcium- containing additive is so adjusted as to satisfy the specific formulas in cleaning flue gas. SOLUTION: An alkali metal-containing additive and a calcium-containing additive together with flue gas are blown into a reaction tower 4 connected to a waste gas side of a boiler 2. For example, lime in a Ca(OH)2 powder shape and NaHCO3 powder are used. At that time a stoichiometric relation of both is so adjusted as to satisfy formulas I and II. Acid gases HCl and SO2 in the flue gas react with lime and NaHCO3 with the additives to form CaSO3 , CaCl, Na2 SO4 , and NaCl, and they together with flue gas dust are separated in a dust precipitator 5. Those together with the dust in flue gas are sent to a melting furnace 8. Thereby, an efficiency of a melting process can be improved.

    Abstract: Residues (18) with a chlorine content in excess of 10% by mass are converted into a melt (4) in a furnace (1) comprises main and exit sections (2, 5) with overhead heating. In the main section the residue constituents not embeddable into the melt are separated into two fractions (22, 23). The fraction (22) containing easily volatile constituents, in particular, heavy metals is evaporated and removed from the furnace together with the flue gas (14) for subsequent condensing and collection. The fraction (23) in the form of liquid salts with a low heavy metal content is separated and collected from the surface of the melt (4). The furnace is provided with a loading unit (15) for residues (18) and additives (20). In addition to overhead heating it is provided with electrodes (12) in the melt bath (3). The outer wall of the furnace main section (2) has an opening (16) for removal of liquid salts. The lower edge of this opening is 1-10 cm above the melt level determined by the overflow platform (8).

    Abstract: In a lime scrubbing plant for desulphurising waste gases, the reaction tank (5) is in the form of a pressure vessel which communicates freely at its surface with the waste gas duct (12) directly through openings (6) in the form of spray devices (6). A pump (7) for circulating the lime suspension has its inlet connected to a section (3) of the waste gas duct which serves as a collector for the sprayed suspension, whilst the pressure side of the pump is connected to the reaction tank (5). The system has the normal means for blow-down and make-up to maintain an excess of lime.

    Abstract: A melting furnace for the thermal treatment of waste containing heavy metal and/or dioxin, has a main furnace vessel which has a melting end for receiving a melt 8, a charging device 7 and a discharge chamber 14 separated from the main furnace vessel 1 by a separating wall 10. Chamber 14 is connected to the melting end by means of a siphon 9, heating elements are provided in the main furance vessel 1 and in the discharge chamber 15. To utilize the heat produced in the discharge chamber for the melting process and to dispense with a gas outlet in the discharge chamber, an opening 24 is provided in the separating wall 10 above the level N of the melt 8. The opening produces a free connection between the main furnace vessel 1 and the discharge chamber 15.

    Abstract: The heating element (1) has at least one heating rod (3), which is at least partially by a ceramic protective tube (2), closed at one side. It is provided at its open end with an external flange (5). The heating element is led through cover slabs (8,9) in the furnace. A protective sleeve (7) having an open end is provided for the heating rod. The second end of the sleeve is provided with an internal flange (6), which carries the external flange of the sleeve in the cover of the furnace. The protective sleeve has such a length, that after the integration of the heating element in the furnace, it projects from the cover slabs (9). The protective sleeve and the inner flange (6) are manufactured from one piece. The inner flange is fixed chemically or mechanically at the protective sleeve.
