Abstract: During switching, a liquid-metal contact film (3) is carried by a moving electrode (2c). When the switch is in the closed-contact state, at least one contact gap (200c) between fixed electrodes (2a,2b) and the moving electrode is electrically bridged by the liquid-metal contact film. Independent claims are included for a current switch, and for electrical switchgear.
