Abstract: The variable geometry blade with central axis (2) and two positions (20, 21) is fitted in a fan. In at least one part region over the blade height, it has profile geometry which can be altered by the elastic deformation of the blade. An actuator, integrated into the blade, is used to bring about this elastic deformation. It may be possible to alter the profile geometry of individual part regions separately from each other.
