    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grating for fire box requiring no emergency cooling system in which a sufficient quantity of water is ensured to be used normally under a sufficient pressure with sufficient cooling characteristics. SOLUTION: An waste heat boiler 3 is disposed on the downstream side of a fire box 2 and supplied with boiler supply water 23 through a water supply pipe 22 provided with an water supply pump 25 and an water supply regulation valve 26. In the water cooling method of grating for such a type of fire box, a part of the supply water 23 is taken out from the water supply pipe 22 on the downstream side of the water supply pump 25 and on the upstream side of the water supply regulation valve 26 and introduced through at least one pressure drop part 20 before being supplied, as cooling water 15, to a cooling passage 14. The cooling water is heated, during conduction through the cooling passage 14, at least up to the vicinity of saturation steam temperature and then fed to take-out parts 24, 27, 28.
