Abstract: An electrical converter (20) comprises a transformer (24) with a primary side (26) and a secondary side (28); a DC link connection (22); a first semiconductor switch (Q 1 ) and a second semiconductor switch (Q 2 ), which are connected in series with the primary side (26) of the transformer (24), which series connection is connected in parallel with the DC link connection (22); a first diode (d c1 ) connected in series with the first semiconductor switch (Q 1 ) and connected to the DC link connection (22), such that the first diode (d c1 ) and the first semiconductor switch (Q 1 ) are connected in parallel with the DC link connection (22); and a snubber circuit (30) with a snubber capacitor (C sn ) connected in parallel to the second semiconductor switch (Q 2 ), which snubber circuit (30) comprises a second diode (d c2 ) connected in series with the snubber capacitor (C sn ).
