    Abstract: The invention relates to a transformer core (10, 20, 102) for a power transformer (100). Said transformer core (10, 20, 102) extends about an imaginary center axis (14, 35, 104) in the form of a closed toroidal structure. The transformer core (10, 20, 102) is mainly constituted of a plurality of adjacent layers of sheet metal (17, 48-1, 48-2, 48-3, 48-4, 48-5).
