Abstract: The winding (10) has a conductor wound around an axis of rotation (12), and winding areas (21-24) adjoined along an axial direction. A cooling channel (15) runs over an entire axial length of the winding between two radially adjacent conductor layers (32, 33). The channel has segments (13, 14) connected along an axial length, where the respective length of each segment is adapted to the axial length of the respective winding areas. Each segment has pipe-like elements that are arranged around the axis of rotation along the axial length in a radially symmetrical manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a multilayered transformer winding.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for producing a multi-layer transformer winding. During or after the winding of a conductor layer around a winding body, a layer of electrically insulating material can be applied on the radially outer surface thereof. A dry fiber composite can be used as the insulating material. The fiber composite can be bonded into an insulating layer by heating the transformer winding to a composite temperature.

Abstract: DC current is passed through one or more coil conductor (16), to cause heating. The coil (16) is turned back and force about its longitudinal axis (32) in a given sequence of rotations. A temperature controller (24) follows a selected temperature profile. Rotation covers a non-360 degrees angle or whole number multiple of it, between reversals. The pattern of angular, back-and-forth rotations is further detailed; it is continued until e.g. a given time has expired. Other criteria may be taken as end criteria, e.g. reaching a given resin hardness or other material property. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding equipment.
