Abstract: L'invention concerne le traitement des cotonniers ou de plantes d'ornement à fleurs dont la formulation se compose d'un agent efficace d'inhibition de l'activité de synthase de l'acide 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylique qui accélère la fleuraison des cotonniers et qui accélère et prolonge la durée de vie des fleurs des plantes d'ornements, notamment lorsque ces plantes à fleurs sont soumises aux contraintes des conditions de transport. L'invention concerne également un agent préféré, à savoir l'acide L-trans-2-amino-4-(2-aminoéthoxy)-3-buténoïque (AVG) ou un sel de celui-ci.
