Abstract:
An apparatus for the laser measurement of the shape of an object or foot (F) includes a base (16), a turntable (15), a linear slide (13), and a laser camera (40) which slides on the linear slide (13). The turntable (15) is attached to the base (16). The linear slide (13) is attached to the turntable (15) and extends from the turntable (15). The linear slide (13) moves with the rotation of the turntable. The laser camera (40) moves along and measures a first side and a second side of the object (F) in order to create a three-dimensional profile of the object (F) or foot shape. The apparatus further includes a robotic control and a computer. Apparatus provides a profile of the object or foot (F). The method also provides for the selection of a shoe size based upon the profile generated by the inventive apparatus.
