Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the mixing of an oscillation signal and to magnify a dynamic range by subjecting oscillation signals to frequency conversion on the basis of the sweep signals formed by the frequency conversion of the respective oscillation signals of the first and second local oscillators before outputting the same. CONSTITUTION:The frequency sweep signal f1st of the first local oscillator 32 provided to a spectrum analyser SA 30 is subjected to frequency conversion on the basis of the oscillation frequency f2nd of the second local oscillator 35 by a frequency converter 36 and the frequency fTG of the oscillation signal of the fixed oscillator 11 of a tracking generator TG 10 is subjected to frequency conversion on the basis of the signal SF3 by a frequency converter 12 and, by setting output frequency fRF to fRF=fTG+f1st, the frequency fTG and the first intermediate frequency flF1 of the SA 30 do not become the same frequency. Therefore, even when the oscillation signal fTG of the oscillator 11 leaks to the SA 30, said signal fTG is filtered by the band selecting characteristics possessed by the second frequency converter 34 and the invasion thereof to the intermediate frequency circuit of the next stage is prevented. By this constitution, the SN ratio of the input signal of the SA 30 is enhanced and a dynamic range can be magnified.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent leaking and mixing in an intermediate-frequency stage of a spectrum analyzer and to enable output of a tracking signal offset for an input signal frequency. CONSTITUTION:An output of an oscillator 31 is supplied to a frequency converter 34 and subjected to frequency conversion by a local signal from a local oscillator 14 and a converted output is supplied to a frequency synthesizer 35. The oscillation frequency of the oscillator 31 is controlled by an output of the synthesizer 35 and thereby an output frequency of the frequency converter 34 is made to be a set frequency of the synthesizer 35. The frequency of the oscillator 31 is changed by 4.6 to 8.2GHz within + or -100MHz. An output of an oscillator 36 is compared in phase with a signal of 200MHz of a terminal 43 in a sampling phase detector 42, the oscillator 36 is controlled by an output of the detector and the oscillation frequency of the oscillator 36 is made to be 4.6GHz+ or -0.2N (N=1, 2,...5)GHz by setting of a terminal 44. Outputs of the oscillators 31 and 36 are subjected to frequency conversion in a frequency converter 41 and outputted as a tracking signal.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To output a stable oscillation signal at all times by moving the position of a dielectric resonator supported by a guide supporter and automatically controlling the amplitude of the oscillation signal so as maintain it at a maximum value at all times. CONSTITUTION:A guide supporter 20 is provided to guide a dielectric resonator 16 along a conductor 15, and a driving device 30 is provided to move the dielectric resonator 16 supported by this guide supporter 20. Then, a controller 40 is provided to control this driving device 30. When the oscillator starts operations, the controller 40 slightly moves the position of the dielectric resonator 16 measures whether or not there is the peak point of the amplitude of the output signal in the moving range. When any peak point position does not exist, the position of the dielectric resonator 16 is moved in the direction of increasing the amplitude of the output signal. During the movement, the reduction of the amplitude is detected and the dielectric resonator is stopped back to the peak point after detecting the passage of the optimum position of the dielectric to obtain the maximum value of the amplitude. Thus, the oscillator can always be operated in the optimum state.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To remove the mixer communication signal from a local oscillator significantly from the output signal of a mixer by providing a variable phase shifter, a variable attenuator, a directional coupler, and a control section. CONSTITUTION:A variable phase shifter 10 outputs the signal from a local oscillator 50 while shifting the phase thus forming a phase angle reverse to that of a mixer communication signal 50a. The phase shifter 10, a variable attenuator 20 and a directional coupler 30 synthesize an inverted signal of the mixer communication signal 50a thus canceling the disturbance signal 50a selectively. A control section 40 receives a frequency setting data signal of sweep step frequency being delivered from a ramp voltage generating section 51 to the oscillator 50. A phase angle data corresponding to the frequency and an attenuation value data are then read out from a parameter memory 42. The data is delivered to corresponding phase shifter 10 and attenuator 20 in order to cancel the signal 50a. When the intermediate frequency f110 is close to the oscillation frequency f100 of the oscillator 50, the signal 50a is canceled thus eliminating the effect of the oscillator 50.

A spectrum measuring apparatus 300 comprises a frequency converting section 310, a synchronizing timing detecting section 350, a measurement executing section 370, and a parameter transmitting section 360. Measurement is performed while maintaining the synchronism of reference oscillation source and sweeping between them.
