Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately control a measuring device by making a measuring system have a measuring device control adapter that generates a control command controlling the measuring device and transmits the control command to the measuring device. In the device 100, a measurement result transmitting part 102 transmits measurement results to the adapter 60. In the adapter 60, a measured data transferring part 76 transmits a measurement result to a display host system 30.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment authentication device which authenticates equipment such as a computer and a measuring instrument having equipment numbers such as serial numbers. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a software ciphering part 36 which receives a serial number and ciphers the received serial number as an open key by an open key system, a ciphered data transmission part 38 which sends the ciphered serial number, and a received serial number deciphering part 16 which receives the ciphered serial number and deciphers the ciphered serial number by using a secret key corresponding to the serial number as the open key, so only when the serial number is given correctly, the deciphering by the received serial number deciphering part 16 is successful. Therefore, the accurate serial number of a device can be obtained to authenticate the device.
