Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively use a tool and to constrain a defective work in the min. number by detecting the wear of a tool based on the radius variation and surface roughness variation of the body to be cut. CONSTITUTION:Cutting is executed by bringing a probe 1 into contact with the cutting face of the body 7 to be cut and the movement of this probe 1 is detected by a sensor 2. From the output signal of this sensor 2 the signal of the low frequency component showing the averaged diameter variation of the body to be cut and the signal of the high frequency component showing the variation corresponding to the surface roughness are separated by a filter. The wear of a tool is detected based on these signals.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To safely use an element for pressure sensor over a long period of time and to simply prepare said element, by using a composite wherein a silver film is closely adhered to the surface of a high strength electric insulating ceramic substrate. CONSTITUTION:Insulating ceramics used as a substrate pref. has compression strength of 50kg/mm or more and is molded into an arbitrary shape such as a rod shape, a plate shape, a tubular shape or a square pillar shape before use. A silver film 2 has a thickness of 2-5mum, pref., 3-4mum and, for example, lead wires 4 are connected through metal caps 3 to both ends of the element, wherein the silver film 2 is formed to the surface of the ceramic rod 1 in a closely adhered state. When the pressure sensor thus constituted is arranged in a liquid pressure container and liquid pressure is changed, electric resistance changes in proportion and light power also changes. By this method, high liquid pressure can be measured safely and accurately over a long period of time.
