The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing skin conditions, comprising: a step of collecting skin or a skin secretion; and a step of measuring a biomarker of the skin or skin secretion collected in the previous step. The present invention also relates to a kit for diagnosing skin conditions, comprising: a unit for collecting skin or skin secretions; and a measuring unit which measures a biomarker of the skin or skin secretion. Skin conditions can be easily, conveniently, and quickly measured using the above-described method for diagnosing skin conditions and the kit for diagnosing skin conditions.

A cosmetic composition for improving skin elasticity is provided which contains an active ingredient in the form of a polymersome in which Phyllanthus urinaria extract and an anti-ageing peptide have been stabilised on the inside. The cosmetic composition of the present invention is efficacious in improving skin wrinkles, restoring skin elasticity and increasing the skin water content, and is effective in improving skin elasticity.

The present invention relates to a method of screening material for improving dry skin and provides a method of screening material for improving dry skin comprising screening on the basis of a change in gene expression of bleomycin hydrolase by a candidate material, and a material for improving dry skin found by screening. In addition, provided is a composition for a skin preparation for external use, containing a liver X receptor activator which increases the gene expression of bleomycin hydrolase as an active ingredient. The screening method of the present invention can find an effective material for improving dry skin, and the composition improves dry skin and prevents loss of skin moisture, thereby restoring the skin barrier of the stratum corneum.

A cosmetic composition containing Adenophorae radix extract is provided to improve water-retaining capability and enhance skin barrier in order to secure flexibility and robustness of skins, thereby reducing generation of wrinkle. A cosmetic composition for treatment and prevention of atopic dermatitis contains Adenophorae radix extract. The Adenophorae radix extract represents extracts from roots of Adenophora triphylla var. japonica Hara. The contents of the Adenophorae radix extract is 0.0001-60wt% on a total weight basis of the cosmetic composition. The Adenophorae radix extract promotes differentiation of keratinocyte, expression of filaggrin and generation of ceramide, ensure skin moisturizing effects and strengthen skin barrier functions. The Adenophorae radix extract induces activity of PPAR-alpha.
