Alternatively, the mapping is used to play audio that corresponds to text selected by a user. Alternatively, the mapping is used to automatically highlight text in response to audio that corresponds to the text being played.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for creating mapping for making positions in audio data (for example, an audio book) and corresponding positions in text data (for example, an electronic book) correspond to each other.SOLUTION: A method includes the processes of receiving audio data on which an audible version of a work whose text version is present is reflected; taking audio-text analysis of the audio data so as to create a text for the part of the audio data; and performing mapping between a plurality of audio positions in the audio data and a plurality of text positions corresponding to the text version of the work upon the basis of the text generated for the part of the audio data.
