Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method, system and connector interface for authenticating an accessory.SOLUTION: The method includes executing authentication operation, and enabling an accessory to access a medial player during authentication operation, and performs lockout of the accessory to prevent the accessory from accessing the media player any more in the case of failing in the authentication operation. The authentication operation can include, for example, verifying authentication information included in an authentication certificate provided by the accessory and/or verifying a digital signature provided by the accessory. The media player and the accessory can control access to the medial player by using a plurality of commands in various environments, such as in a connector interface system environment.
