Abstract: A fuel cell system (100) includes a fuel cell stack (102) which converts fuel into electrical power. It also includes a fuel source (104) for the fuel cell stack and a controller (106) which controls operation of the fuel cell system. The fuel system also includes an interface (110) to the portable computing device (120), wherein the interface (110) comprises a power link (112) that provides power to the portable computing device, and a bidirectional communication link (114) that provides bidirectional communication between the portable computing device and the controller for the fuel cell system.
