Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide retrieval capability that easily specifies places of an environment setting control, a file, a folder, a control, other system resources, or a data item associated with retrieval results.SOLUTION: A retrieval word (or a part thereof) is input to a retrieval field associated with one or more resource types to be retrieved. A pop-up menu including a list of candidates which are considered to be matches is displayed. When a desired environment setting control is selected from the pop-up menu, a corresponding environmental pane or other containers containing a selected data item, a control, or other resources are displayed. When the retrieval item (or the part thereof) is input, a specific icon is highlighted. Different types of highlight can be used according to the degree of probability that the container contains the correct match.
