Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and apparatus that allow a device to migrate wireless service across multiple wireless networks.SOLUTION: There are provided methods and apparatus that enable storing multiple eSIMs and switching between the eSIMs, each of which is specific to a different carrier network. By loading an appropriate eSIM, a user device can authenticate itself with the selected carrier, rather than roaming. During roaming operation, the user device can load one or more of the previously stored eSIMs. Selection of the eSIM can be done manually by the user or can be driven by the user device based on desired context; for example, based on carrier signal strength, cost-effectiveness, etc. Support for multiple radio technologies also allows universal connectivity for wireless devices, even spanning previously incompatible technologies such as GSM (Global Standard for Mobile Communications), CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), etc.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and apparatus enabling programming of electronic identification information of a wireless apparatus.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, a previously purchased or deployed wireless apparatus is activated by a cellular network. The wireless apparatus connects to a wireless network using an access module to download operating system components and/or access control client components. The described methods and apparatus enable updates, additions and replacement of various components including Electronic Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) data, OS components. One exemplary implementation of the invention utilizes a trusted key exchange between the device and the cellular network to maintain security.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and apparatus for secure provision of access control entities (sSIM) after a host device on which the sSIM are used is deployed.SOLUTION: Wireless user equipment is given a unique device key and endorsement certificate which can be used to provide a new eSIM to the user equipment in a "field". The user equipment can trust the eSIM delivered by an unknown third-party, based on a secure certificate transmission with the device key. An OS (operating system) is partitioned into various portions or "sandboxes". During operation, the user equipment is active and executes the OS in the sandboxes corresponding to a current wireless network. Partition packages are received while only the partition packages connected to the network are applied to the sandboxes. When loading the eSIM, the OS only loads a list of software necessary for a current run-time environment. Unused software can be subsequently activated.

Abstract:
An electrical receptacle is disclosed. The electrical receptacle includes a housing and at least one socket at least partially disposed within the housing and having at least a pair of entry ports. The at least one socket is controllable by a radio frequency signal. The electrical receptacle also includes 5 an antenna at least partially disposed within the housing configured to at least receive the radio frequency signal used to control the at least one socket. The electrical receptacle further includes at least one tamper resistant device at least partially disposed within the housing. The at least one tamper resistant device is configured to block the entry ports unless a mating electrical plug is inserted into the at least one socket.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for provisioning wireless devices for operation in one or more networks. In one embodiment, a provisioning service may provide access client (e.g., Subscriber Identity Module) data to a secure element in the wireless user device. The device may be preloaded with a provisioning SIM profile. The device may use the provisioning profile to roam onto a carrier, and communicate with a provisioning service, which may present the user with a list of available wireless carriers, such as carriers that service the user's current geographic location. In response to a user selection, the provisioning service may load a SIM profile associated with the selected carrier onto the secure element. The loaded SIM profile can be used to obtain wireless service from the selected carrier. The user may add multiple SIM profiles, and/or may delete SIM profiles.
