Abstract: Ein Jitter Buffer in einem Voice over LTE-Empfänger kann durch Funkpegel-Feedback (RLF) von sowohl lokalen als auch an anderen Orten liegenden Endpunkten beeinflusst werden, um die Jitter-Buffer-Verzögerung in Erwartung voraussichtlicher Verluste, die mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit eintreten werden, präventiv anzupassen. Die Funkereignisse des RLF und die Szenarien, welche die präventiven Anpassungen auslösen, können identifiziert werden, und ihre Verwendung kann anhand von mathematischen Formeln ausgedrückt werden. In Konzepten des Standes der Technik wird der momentane Jitter aus einem gewichteten Verlauf des Mediendatenstroms abgeleitet, und infolgedessen werden nur Pakete, die bereits angekommen sind, verwendet, um den momentanen Jitter zu berechnen, um die Länge des Puffers anzupassen. Durch Ausgeben und Nutzen von RLF sowohl von lokalen als auch von entfernten Endpunkten kann die voraussichtliche Verzögerung – für Pakete, die noch nicht angekommen sind –, verwendet werden, um den Puffer präventiv anzupassen, wodurch ein Paketverlust minimiert wird, ohne eine unnötige Verzögerung einzuführen.
