Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer insulation based on expandable and crosslinkable elastomeric material with improved low temperature resistance and flexibility, and a method for manufacturing such material. SOLUTION: There is provided a multilayer insulation comprising the foamed layer of poly(ethylene-propylene-diene)-based elastomer as a substrate. The insulation has a density of 10-100 kg/m 3 , a thermal conductivity lower than 0.08 Wm-1K-1, preferable closed cell content of more than 95% outside, and includes an additional foamed layer having a density of 40-200 kg/m 3 and a protective layer comprising an aluminum foil inside.
